What they say

Uniquely British. A year in the life of the Household Cavalry

TRICORN BOOKS have done sterling work to bring this project in on time, on budget, and with work of the highest quality. They did this in difficult circumstances . . . they always did so with a smile in their faces. Gail and Dan are a highly professional and effective team, and I could not have asked for more from them. They were a pleasure to work with.” Lt Col Dan Hughes. Commanding Officer, Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment

Silver City: 500 Years of Portsmouth’s History is a major exhibition at Portsmouth Museum and Art Gallery, telling the story of the city through amazing silver treasures. It showcases many precious objects that have never been on public display before. Most come from the city’s civic collection but others have been loaned from the Royal Navy, the city’s Anglican cathedral and the Goldsmiths’ Company Charity. Exhibits include a model of HMS Victory presented to the city when the Portsmouth Command of the Royal Navy was awarded the Freedom of the City in 1965. It is made from copper taken from the ship and plated in silver.

“I just wanted to put on record our thanks for your support developing the book to accompany the Silver City exhibition. The whole process was seamless and it was rewarding to work with such a professional local company. The ability to turn around such a great product in quick time as part of a wider project was ideal for our needs. The quality of the design and print is excellent and really complements the significance of the silver collection. ” James Daly, Cultural Development and Projects Officer

“My journey into writing was rather late. After I finished writing my first book, my next problem was to find a publisher, this was a daunting prospect. Having tried several companies with no avail, I turned to the internet. It was here I found Tricorn Books. My problems were solved in one phone call. I have found them easy to work with, they have untold patience, nothing is too much trouble; their experience and expert guidance makes the publishing process a pleasure. The quality of the print work, paper and reproduction of photographs used in the publishing of my books both hard back and paperback has been first class. If you have a book to publish, I have no hesitation in recommending Tricorn Books and the Team.Veronica Ewen, Author

Having worked on projects with Gail, Dan and the Tricorn team for well over a decade as an author, a collaborator, and on location, I can attest to their commitment. A prompt and honest communicator, Dan has always gone above and beyond to get things right. With Tricorn you’ll find none of the inflexibility or hidden surprises that can disrupt the simple desire to create something original, with attention to detail, and with a constant eye on mutual commercial success. Alex Hibbert, Polar Explorer

When I finished my book, I ran it past several conventional publishers. None of them liked it. It’s a full year’s diary all about modern, real-life, hi tech farming, and that’s just not fashionable. “Thanks, but no thanks!” was the slightly sniffy message. However, Dan and the team at Tricorn Books loved it, and were fantastic at giving it a good polish, and organising the publishing, packaging and printing. Sales have now passed two thousand, and I’m thrilled and enormously grateful that Tricorn Books were so keen to get involved. I know where I’ll be going with the next book. Charlie Flindt, Farmer

From the very first meeting with Gail and Dan, it was clear that they and the team understood the importance of getting the production of the book absolutely right; their enthusiasm for the project was immediately evident. Their approach to the process of producing the book was thoroughly professional: Gail’s initial editing and formatting together with Liz’s proof reading have resulted in what can only be described as a first class finished product. I would have no hesitation in recommending Tricorn Books to anyone seeking to publish a quality book. Mike Channing, Chairman, 6th QEO Gurkha Rifles Memorial Project Committee

As any self published author will know, your books live inside you and become extremely precious. When I decided to publish The Wise Bear Stories I knew for several reasons it would be challenging … I wanted to launch a collection of several books at the same time, and because of the timeless principles shared in the books I wanted the illustrations and quality to match this. I wanted the production to be good enough that families would pass the books on to younger generations. that’s why I chose Tricorn Books. Scot Cranfield, author Wise Bear Stories
