Logline

The last survivors of a dying world reach a pristine new planet where survival demands more than escape. Splitting up to guide scattered human-like civilisations, Sanluin and her crew must help shape a future free from the corruption that destroyed their home – until forbidden love, hostile landscapes and a shocking revelation about the ship’s AI threaten to unravel everything.

Overview

Hope’s Truth follows the crew of the starship Hope after their escape from the ruined world of Atronia. Led by Sanluin, they awaken from cryosleep to discover a potential new home: a planet untouched by industry, hierarchy or the corporate greed that poisoned their own civilisation.

Their mission is clear. Study the scattered emerging populations and gently guide their development, ensuring the mistakes of Atronia are never repeated. To achieve this, the crew divide across different regions, embedding themselves in communities whose cultures and values vary wildly.

But the planet is not the paradise it seems. Vast deserts hide ancient threats, primitive clans resist guidance, and a mysterious corporate rival has survived the fall of Atronia and arrived with its own agenda. As tensions escalate, Sanluin uncovers the most profound truth of all: the ship’s AI is built around the consciousness of her father, a secret that forces her to confront questions of loyalty, identity and destiny.

Balancing sweeping landscapes, intimate character drama and philosophical questions of leadership and morality, the story blends high adventure with emotional depth. The central conflict revolves around what kind of world the survivors will build – and whether they can escape the shadows of the one they left behind.
